About Leandra Lawrence

Leandra is the sanctuary manager at Perry’s Place. She has been involved with animal rescue for the past 13 years but her love for helping animals started as a child. While growing up in rural Tennessee, she cared for abandoned or neglected animals and always had her father’s support. They made quite the team, rescuing a wide variety of animals from cats and dogs to horses and raccoons. As an adult she has worked in both conventional and alternative medical fields but ultimately decided that working with animals was her true passion. When she’s not working or volunteering with animal rescue, she enjoys crafting, making jewelry, hiking and spending time her wife and their animal companions - Mr Bo and Emmy Lou.
