On September 26, 2015, we will be celebrating the lives and work of three innovative and heroic figures in the Los Angeles rescue community. Here is a closer look at the pivotal work of Christi Metropole.
When Christi Metropole encountered a needy stray kitten in 1999, she learned that little to no resources existed to help her, the kitten, or thousands of other cats like her. As a result, she founded Stray Cat Alliance and soon community cats had found a formidable ally. Under Christiβs unwavering leadership, hundreds of volunteers and scores of donors have since united with education, advocacy, human power and skills to provide TNR (Trap/Neuter/Return) assistance, medical care and often adoption placement for tens of thousands of cats needing help.
Christi is a tireless advocate for the most vulnerable cats, those without a forever home but who deserve the same chance to live safe lives. With the help of caring volunteers, Stray Cat Alliance provides food and often shelter for these cats. Christiβs passion is reflected in her fierce resolve to help Los Angeles become no-kill, and through her leadership, she continues to make an enormous contribution to the movement.
We hope you can join us on September 26, 2015, to thank Christi for her ceaseless dedication to community cats and to our shared vision of turning Los Angeles into a no-kill city.
