ADOPTION FAQS
We recommend letting the cat choose you! Some people come to us with a list of characteristics they want in a new cat (short hair, not too old, male, etc.) and end up falling in love with someone unexpected. The most important factor to consider is the cat’s personality and the potential of compatibility for your lifestyle. Does it get along with other cats? With dogs? Is it alright being alone during the day or does it always need company? Is it a lap cat or more independent? We are familiar with our cats’ personalities and can guide you to a good match. Decide on what personality traits matter most to you but keep an open mind.
Once you apply online, one of our adoption counselors will email you about your schedule and experience prior to introducing you to the eligible candidates.
The next step is scheduling a meet and greet at Perry’s Place or PetSmart store. If all goes well, and your application is approved, you can take kitty home the same day. If you need some time to think about it, we can place a paid hold on your kitty. We want to give you some time to think about it – it is a big commitment! If you change your mind, the fee becomes a donation to our sanctuary.
When you pick up your cat, you will be asked to fill out an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Be sure to bring a soft-sided or hard-sided carrier – we won’t send kitty home in a cardboard carrier.
All of our cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. We test for FIV and feline leukemia after four months.
We have a few supplies on-site, including handmade fleece blankets, collars, carriers, toys, and more. Please ask your adoption counselor for availability.

We work diligently to place our cats and kittens in forever homes that stay forever homes. However, every cat adopted from Heaven on Earth comes with our lifetime promise. If for any reason, you can no longer care for your cat, he or she is always welcome to come back to Perry’s Place. We are committed to helping our adopted cats throughout their lifetime and understand that circumstances sometimes change.
We do reserve the right to refuse the adoption. If your application is not approved, we will do our best to explain the reason(s). It is important to remember that a denial is not a rejection of you as a person; it is a refusal to place one of our cats in a situation that we do not feel is a good match or does not meet our policies.
